Åhléns, Klarabergsgatan 50, muji.eu
Muji’s new flagship store, which opened in
August 2019, occupies a whole floor at the top
of Åhléns City. The fittings are built in part
using wood from an abandoned 100-year-old
barn in Järvsö. Browse the elegantly simple
products from across the company’s range.
New categories for Sweden include bed linen,
furniture and lighting. The store also offers
help and advice on interior design and styling.
Nybrogatan 11, nordiskagalleriet.se
Nordiska Galleriet is one of Stockholm’s apparently
eternal bastions of design, alongside
stores such as Svenskt Tenn and Stalands.
The company has sold interior design on the
same premises since 1933 and is responsible
for introducing the likes of Cassina, B&B Italia
and Vitra to Sweden. Since 2016, the company
has had a new owner who continues to focus
on current international design.
Runebergsplan, Karlavägen 30A
There is always a good reason to buy flowers.
Christoffers Blommor and Makalösa Blommor
are the favorites of many interior stylists. But
don’t miss little Petit Marche at the intersection
of Karlavägen and Engelbrektsgatan,
an old florist’s kiosk that Lena Alfonso and
Café Vurma’s founder Neta Brandin have
transformed into a miniature Parisian market,
a charming combination of florist, gift shop
