Three out of four professional furniture
designers in Sweden are men, despite the
majority of the students on the design courses
being women. Through the exhibition Female
Traces, Möbeldesignmuseum (The Museum
of Furniture Studies) showcases women as
the creators of some of the furniture world’s
most famous works. The exhibition presents
60 female furniture designers.

Dutch designer Hella Jongerius is critical of
how standardized colors and color systems
are used in the design industry today, and
believes that we need colors with life and
intensity around us. In the exhibition Hella
Jongerius – Breathing Colour she seeks to
challenge and help us to discover how light,
materials and form influence our perception

Since 2002, design and architecture studio
TAF, founded by Gabriella Gustafson and
Mattias Ståhlbom, has achieved international
recognition for its work on everything from
exhibition design to interiors and product
design. For Svenskt Tenn, they have created
the embracing and contemporary Famna 2020
sofa, which is being launched at an exhibition
of the same name.
